OUR TEAM
DR. FRANK UZOECHINA
Managing Director
Instructor
DR. FRANK UZOECHINA is an Independent Reservoir Engineering & Simulations consultant based in Bassum, Lower Saxony, Germany. He has more than 17 years hands-on experience with major oil and gas operators.
He has a strong geological background and an extensive technical expertise in reservoir simulation and management within the oil and gas sector.
As an employee of Wintershall Holding GmbH Germany, he was responsible for the reservoir management, monitoring, surveillance and simulation of the largest German oil field, the Dogger beta reservoir of the Mittelplate, offshore German North Sea. In that asset, he worked on 2 FDPs, which resulted in two drilling campaigns of 3 dual laterals and 5 extended reach wells that had a total investment value of ca 400 million euros.
At the same time he worked on re-purposing producer wells for water injection to enhance reservoir pressure as well as sidetracks for optimal exploitation, all of which resulted in water free oil production from by-passed oil zones.
At the time he worked with OMV AG Austria, he was the operations reservoir engineer in charge of more than 10 reservoirs. His job included planning and monitoring of new wells leveraging reservoir-friendly drilling fluids, as well as monitoring and surveillance of producing reservoirs for optimum sweep efficiency.
During his time in OMV, he worked on the Strasshof Tief sour gas field exploration and development project, which was comprised of 3 stacked carbonate reservoirs. At that time he was also part of a study aimed at sequestering H2S and CO2 into the Reyersdorfer Dolomite formation, a partially depleted gas reservoir.
His assignments while he was in BP UK, involved basin wide exploration simulation of Diamondback and the Perdido basins of the GoM, the Ibis of Trinidad and Tobago and Titania of Angola.
He also worked as a graduate assistant in the department or Geology of the University of Vienna, Austria.
He has authored and co-authored a number of scientific publications.
Frank obtained Bachelors and Masters of Engineering degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the Mining University of Leoben, in Austria, and a Doctorate degree in Stratigraphic Simulations and Basin Modelling from the University of Vienna, Austria.
